Environmental Champion 

PURPOSE OF AWARD: To recognize a practicing Technology Professional who is progressing in their career and service to the profession with a focus on Environmental Sustainability.

AWARD CRITERIA: The following criteria will be used by the TPBC Awards Committee:

1.    a registered professional who is in mid career

2.    solid foundation in their career, with more than 5 years experience

3.    contribution to the profession and pubic by providing both technical expertise and showing leadership skills and actions in the field of environmental sustainability

4.    Environmental sustainability can apply to land, air and/or water environments and be in the form of mitigation and/or adaptation measures

5.    Preference will be given to actions that result in increased education and awareness to both other professionals and the general public. Knowledge transfer to youth in a STEM program or similar experience would be ideal

6.    support of three references confirming professional, career and service contributions

AWARD APPLICATION: The application can be submitted by the registered technology

professional or another person able to vouch for the applicant. The application shall include:

1.    a written statement of no more than 500 words outlining the rationale for the award application

2.    three references confirming the contributions made by the applicant

3.    a video of no more than 120 seconds presented by the applicant that addresses their professional, career and contributions to the advancement of Environmental Sustainability

AWARD RECOGNITION: The recipient will receive a token of recognition (plaque, trophy or similar award). The form of the recognition will be determined by the TPBC Awards Committee.

AWARD PROMOTION: The recipient is eligible and encouraged to promote their achievement in personal and corporate social media and materials including the use of TPBC logos and trademarks.

TPBC will promote the award through several channels including a post to the TPBC website, a notice in the TPBC news, an advisory to significant stakeholder organizations, and a media release.

The recipient is encouraged to advise others of the award presentation and in doing so may wish to consult with TPBC.

AWARD FUNDING: There is no specific funding associated with this Award.

AWARD PRESENTATION: The Award will be presented at the TPBC Annual General Meeting or at another time as determined by the Awards Committee.
