Technology Professions BC Association (TPBC) was formed to advocate for, and provide services to, the technology professions in engineering and applied science technology.
TPBC is a 'professional organization' as defined in the BC Professional Governance Act. TPBC is NOT a Professional Regulatory Organization. The professional regulatory role is the purview of ASTTBC and other similar organizations. The Professional Governance Act does not regulate professional organizations such as TPBC or lend authority to advocacy activities conducted by professional organizations.
In these early years TPBC is working on a BUILD IT... they will comestrategy. We are building our programming before launching a full scope member recruitment initiative. We are focusing our attention on recruiting 'early adopters'... builders... leaders... individuals and organizations keen on helping us frame an organization that will lead and support the technology professions.
We invite technology professionals as well as businesses, NGOs and others to join and support our efforts to advocate for matters such as the promotion of STEM education and careers, technology accreditation and portability, training and CPD, working with people with disabilities and Indigenous Peoples as they consider STEM careers, and deliver services such as mentoring.
Many of our initiatives will have a bearing on the growth and development of BC's workforce.
TPBC is entering into Memorandums of Agreement (MoA) with businesses and NGOs for the purpose of signaling our join commitment to addressing issues of common interest. Check out 'MoAs' under ADVOCACY on our web site.
