MARSH HEINEKEY EDUCATION
PURPOSE OF AWARD:
To honour a member who has made a significant contribution to engineering and applied science technology education.
ALAN CHEEK SERVICE
PURPOSE OF AWARD:
To honour a member who has demonstrated lengthy service to TPBC, the profession and other organizations.
DOUG DUNCAN LEADERS
PURPOSE OF AWARD:
To honour a practicing TPBC member who is progressing in their career and service to the profession and community and assist them as they seek to develop additional skills.
ENVIRONMENTAL CHAMPION
PURPOSE OF AWARD:
To recognize a practicing TPBC member who is progressing in their career and service to the profession with a focus on Environmental Sustainability.
EMPLOYER EXCELLENCE
PURPOSE OF AWARD:
To recognize an employer who is employing, supporting and empowering two or more technical professionals and to encourage them to advance their careers and service to their profession.
Award Nominations
TPBC seeks to recognize and honour TPBC members as well as leaders in business, industry and government who excel in their service. TPBC invites applications for the following awards. All application information submitted to TPBC becomes the property of TPBC and may be used by TPBC to publicize information on awards approved.
Application Instructions
Please submit your awards application to info@techprobc.org and include two letters of reference.
Eligibility
Each award criteria defines eligibility requirements.
Application Deadline
Nominations may be submitted at any time of the year. The final date for nominations to be considered in any year is January 31.
Information required
Applicants are required to forward the information requested for each award. The information provided is to inform the committee about the applicant’s background, goals, achievements, life experiences, motivations and service to and for the profession and community.
Adjudication
Applications are reviewed by a TPBC Committee, which in turn makes a recommendation to the Board of Directors which makes the final decision on all nominations.
A nomination review may include one or more of the following:
- interview nominee
- check with references
- ask the nominator for additional information and references
- ask the nominator and / or nominee to provide a video in support of the nomination
The Committee may choose not to recommend an award in any year. All nominators and nominees will be advised as to the final decision of the Board of Directors.
Award Presentation
A physical certificate or plaque will be created for each award and presented to the award recipient at an appropriate time and place as determined by TPBC.
Publication
A brief write-up taken from information included with the nomination will be made public through various TPBC channels, including a media release. Award recipients are encouraged to advise employers, colleagues and professional and technical associations through various channels, all as a means of elevating the honour granted with the award.
