The amended Professional Governance Act has introduced a new era of professional regulation for many professions, including technology professionals. In addition to the Professional Regulator it is common to have one or more organizations advocating for the profession and professionals. The revised PGA (November 2023) defines a ‘professional organization’ as “a corporation that (a) acts as an advocate for persons who practice a profession; and (b) is not a professional regulator”.  Technology Professions BC Association (TPBC) was incorporated as a Society under the Society Act to serve as a ‘professional organization’.

TPBC encourages businesses to actively support and assist TPBC as it builds capacity as a new enterprise advocating for, and providing services to, technology professionals. Businesses will benefit from joining.

Businesses are invited to show support for TPBC and your technology professionals by affiliating with TPBC as we work to provide a number of services for technology professionals including:

  • CPD and other career and professional enhancements
  • awards to recognize technology professionals’, environmental initiatives and employers who excel addressing key issues affecting employers’ enterprises
  • monitoring and reporting on employment trends and the number of graduate technology professionals
  • and more…
