TPBC signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the BCEA for the broad purpose of collaborating in support of STEM education and careers. The President and CEO of BCEA, Barbetter Igonia has had a decades-old working relationship with TPBC CEO John Leech. “It was a pleasure to re-connect with Barbette and come together in support of the membership of BCEA and TPBC,” said Leech on signing the Agreement.
The MoA indicates that both organizations share common interests, for example:
> enhance awareness of education and career opportunities in their respective areas of interest;
> support and assist their members develop and maintain high professional standards as their members
> provide benefits such as continuing professional development to its members to assist them in their professional practice
By this Memorandum of Agreement, the two organizations stipulate that each organization:
- will cooperate in tracking education and career trends in the construction sector;
- will cooperate in promoting education and careers in the construction sector;
- will collaborate in influencing funding and marketing of education and training programming;
- will collaborate in offering continuing professional development to its members;
- will support each others’ special events such as the Annual General Meeting and awards programs;
- will liaise on matters affecting services by its members, to the benefit of its members and the public.
