INDIGENOUS PEOPLES RELATIONS

The TPBC Board approved the following Statement on Indigenous Relations:

Technology Professions British Columbia humbly acknowledges the ongoing work being done through many territories of unceded lands within BC.

TPBC is a friend and ally in the complex work of restoring and enhancing the unique relationship with Indigenous peoples within this area.  We share the responsibility of fostering good relations and working to excel at uplifting our communities.

Through TPBC we proudly support and believe that the work we perform every day is done with open hearts, open minds and for the well-being of all.

Dawn McGrath, PhD candidate, MBA, AScT, ROWP, CWP, CWWP,  is a member of the TPBC Board and is our prime champion as we build the new initiative.

Dawn is a well educated Secwepemc matriarch who is on a mission to help inform and share her experience so that youth may find a less challenging pathway to success.  Her approach is to support and encourage youth to figure out how to approach STEM related fields and if there is a fit to find a way to make it work.

We are already at work ahead of creating our vision statement, developing a work plan and defining our team. Hence we will report on recent developments and post our corporate info as this evolves. Please check back from time to time. A full program will be up and running before year end.
